This summer, we’re looking for volunteers to support our English, youth, and art programming.
No experience needed, just a willingness to help and connect!
Dates: June 18, June 25, July 2, July 9, July 16, July 23*, July 30*
Time: 5:00—8:00 PM (for volunteers)
Location: Mountain View Elementary School
* Alternative location on July 23 & 30: Fry’s Spring Beach Club

“Volunteering with Cville Tulips has been a deeply meaningful experience for me. As an Afghan woman who grew up in the U.S., being a part of this community allows me to give back in a way that feels both personal and powerful. I serve as an English Circle Assistant, supporting the women during their English classes and helping create a space where they feel confident, supported, and heard. It's an honor to contribute to a program that uplifts Afghan women through language, health education, and a strong sense of cultural connection and belonging.”

“I am the current women's art program director for Cville Tulips, where I get the chance to organize and facilitate enriching art projects for women and children. While I had heard about the power of art and community-building, I have had the privilege of seeing it firsthand. Doing art together each week, I have witnessed the conversations, shared laughs, and sense of empowerment that comes about during and after a project is completed. I feel so privileged to be a part of Cville Tulips—it has truly been one of my favorite things about UVA.”
