Health Booklets
When the first cohort of Cville Tulips student volunteers graduated in 2024, they wanted to leave behind something that would continue to support the women in accessing health and wellness. Ayusha Khanal and Paige Roeschenthaler drew on research from their undergraduate capstone projects to create the first booklets, covering transportation, health clinics, nutrition, and exercise.
Since then, public health and pre-med students have carried the project forward, building a growing library of booklets that present clear, accessible information that women can use at home and as they navigate the American healthcare system. The booklets support Cville Tulips health education programming and are developed in consultation with the International Family Medicine Clinic (IFMC), the International Rescue Committee (IRC), interpreters, and community members to ensure the materials are culturally and linguistically relevant. The booklets are translated into Dari, Pashto, and Arabic, the primary languages of the Afghan and Syrian women Tulips serve. We have print copies available on request and digital versions are free on our website.
